The Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library provide significant services and funds to the library. The Friends of the Library meet immediate, short-term needs of the library.
Serving the Community/Mission We support the Freedom to Read and the Library Bill of Rights as expressed by the American Library Association To read file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software. We increase public awareness of the library’s resources and services. We assist in fund-raising efforts to provide the public with an enhanced library collection and improved service. We provide volunteer services requested by the library for special events and projects. We support new library services and facilities. We seek library support from the City Council and legislators when needed.
Friends of the Library Support or Sponsor:
Give-A-Kid-A Book Project Each year in November and December, we coordinate the Give-A-Kid-A-Book project. New books are collected and distributed to area agencies that serve low-income children in our community.
New books and monetary donations may be mailed to the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library at 400 Eau Claire St., Eau Claire WI 54701 or may be placed under the evergreen tree at the library in early December.
Book Sales The Friends of L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library sponsor book sales of used and donated books and other library materials at regular intervals throughout the year. The proceeds from these sales go to support Friends’ activities.

Donate Items The library accepts donations through the Friends of the L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library and reserves the right to place books or other materials in the library’s collection or return it to the Friends for possible sale in their book sales.
Proceeds from the Friends book sales are donated to the library to help fund purchases or projects that, without their assistance, would not be possible.
Book Marks Remembrance Fund The Book Marks Remembrance Fund provides an opportunity to celebrate, honor and remember people who’ve made a difference in your life. Donations made in honor of special people and loved ones are used to purchase books and other materials that the library might not otherwise be able to buy. A special bookplate is placed in these items.
